eValid SiteMap Operation Modes
SiteMap searches can run in three different modes, but not all analyses can be completed
in each mode.
This table summarizes the kinds of SiteMap reports.

Note A.
In background mode eValid's SiteMap option does not render the page retrieved and as a result if a base page refers to several images these images are not downloaded. This often results in a faster download time, which is effectively equivalent to serving the pages text only, or the same as if you had used the Serve Text extrinsic command in an eValid playback script.Note B.
The foreground and background mode differ because the former uses the version of the web page already processed by the browser, while the latter mode uses the "raw" version of the page. If a website has dynamically generated pages or if the pages are particularly poorly coded, the background mode will not produce the same (or as reliable) results as the foreground mode. When in doubt, run in foreground mode for the most reliable results.
